Women On Mission
A ministry of the Southern Baptist Convention Woman's Missionary Union, Women on Mission® is ongoing missions involvement and learning that extends across the globe. Missions opportunites, learning materials and many free resources have been created to help women develop a missions lifestyle. As a part of Women on Mission, ladies have the opportunity to participate in missions and ministries that enable them to experience a variety of ways to serve Christ. Ultimately, the purpose of all Women on Mission activities is that every person have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel. At Lake Shore, we have a day group that meets the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Our night group meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Activities Building. We learn about missions, participate in a monthly mission project, pray for missionaries and conduct a Bible Study.
Children in Action
Children in Action is an organization for boys and girls in grades 1–6 that helps them learn:
• a biblical worldview with an emphasis on missions learning and missional living
• develop leadership skills to serve God and share His love with others
• grow spiritually in their understanding of God and His mission, including how they are a part of God’s plan. Children in Action learn about and pray for missions. They do missions work and give money to missions. Plus, they have lots of fun! Our Children in Action meet each Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Sanctuary.
Music and Missions
From babies to kindergarten, Mission Friends provides the building blocks of faith and basic awareness of God's love for all people. Our preschoolers meet on Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in the Education Building.
Feed the Lambs
Our food pantry has been expanded to include single serving items to pack in a backpack for children who would not have any weekend meals without our help. We are responsible for one dinner meal. Please bring items such as: chef boyardee single serving spaghettio's, ravioli's, etc. as well as a dessert item such as pudding.
Our food pantry is in need of all items. We can use spaghetti sauce and pasta, rice, canned meat items such as tuna, chicken, etc. We use all kinds of canned vegetables, shelf milk, potted meat, mayonnaise and mustard. We always need breakfast items as well. We are now a satellite location to Community Health Outreach and are open on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. - Noon.
The Clothes Closet is also open on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - Noon. We welcome good used clothing, shoes, and accessories.
